“There is no sphere of human thought in which it is easier to show superficial cleverness and the appearance of superior wisdom than in discussing questions of currency and exchange.”
Winston Churchill, House of Commons, September 29, 1949
The purpose of this site is to provide insight into the FX markets and to provide analysis of current events affecting market flows. Many market pundits look at price movements and try to justify those movements by cobbling together some news headlines and packaging a nice narrative that fits and ties them up with a neat bow.
Foreign exchange is rarely neat and frequently defies explanation. The FX market more often responds organically despite the proliferation of electronic trading systems and algorithms. Investors, money managers, pension fund managers, hedge fund traders and corporate hedgers determine their strategies prior to entering any orders into their systems.
Rubbing shoulders with these participants are the day traders, CTAs, inter-bank spot traders and non-bank liquidity providers working through multi-dealer platforms. FX is a living, breathing entity that reflects the conflict between human instincts and emotions and the A.I. and algorithm based trading strategies.
At Invictus FX we try to cut through the hyperbole, we look at fundamental and technical analysis, flows coursing through the market and provide an honest unbiased opinion, after all as it says in the bible “In the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is the king!” Our raison d’etre is to provide the one-eyed man’s view.
